This intensive, hands-on skills-based course will introduce clinicians to the principles and applications of point-of-care ultrasound in pediatric practice. Participants will learn hands-on techniques to enhance bedside assessment, improve diagnostic accuracy, and support timely clinical decision-making. The curriculum will be delivered through brief lectures followed by extensive small-group, hands-on scanning sessions using live models and simulators, ensuring each participant receives personalized feedback from expert faculty.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Perform and interpret lung ultrasound to assess common pediatric respiratory conditions.
  • Conduct hands-on echocardiography for evaluation of cardiac function and common pediatric cardiac findings.
  • Apply abdominal ultrasound techniques, including the FAST (Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma)
    protocol, for rapid assessment in critical scenarios.
  • Perform ultrasound-guided vascular access safely and effectively in pediatric patients.
  • Integrate P-POCUS findings into clinical decision-making to enhance patient care in pediatric emergency and
    critical care settings.
